At the Carwash
Did you know this about me? Mild anxiety and a few mild panic attacks have bothered me in my older adult life. It mostly stems from a bit of claustrophobia when I feel like I can't get out. It can happen in places like the movie theater, the temple, Timpanogos cave especially when the guide turns the lights out for fun, the pod that takes you up to the top of the St Louis arch, an airplane, a deep underground parking garage, and...the car wash. The heart racing, tight chest, and difficulty breathing don't happen every time I've been to these places. Thank goodness. I've learned some ways to keep it from happening and techniques to get me through when I feel it starting. One way is to sit on the end of an aisle at a theater or at the temple. I went through the carwash by myself a couple of weeks ago, and I decided to take some pictures during it to help me not think about where I was. It worked!
