Adventure Bound

This cute little family just left BYU and are beginning a year of new places and experiences.  Every newly formed family needs an adventure of their own, and this one has already had a few.  Chicago to Peru to Houston and Dallas with BYU all mixed in between.  Now to Michigan for the summer and then onto London for 9-10 months and then who knows where after that!

We had them at our house for three days prior to their long drive to Michigan.  It was so fun having them around.  We especially loved playing with P all day and seeing her smiles as well as her scowls. Oh how we are going to miss having them in Utah!  But adventures are calling!

Sisters' Day Out

At the beginning of May, I attended the first day of Women's Conference at BYU with my older sister, Kristen.  It was her first time going which made it extra special for me.  I wanted her to feel the Spirit as we listened and learned, enjoy the unity felt among so many different women in attendance, and fill her emotional and spiritual bucket.  I'm pretty sure we both checked off all those boxes.  I always love to spend time with her one on one.  The theme this year was the scripture Ether 12:41.  "Seek This Jesus" was woven into all of the variety of presentations that we attended.  We listened to the opening session in the Marriott Center with Sister Julie Beck.  Wonderful. Then we headed over to the HFAC and listened to two ladies teach us about recieving spiritual guidance and being apart of the solution.  Awesome. The second session was also in the HFAC but in a differnt theater.  It was on loving a child who has left the gospel path.  Inspiring. We skipped the third session in exchange for eating lunch at the little hawaiian grill in the Wilk and also picking up yummy BYU mint brownies to eat later.  We walked around campus for a little while before heading back to the Marriott Center for the closing session given by Rebecca Pinegar.  She was hard to listen to so we kinda wished we had skipped that instead of missing out on the third session.  We went to the mall in Orem to do some shopping then went back to campus for An Evening of Entertainment at 8:30.  The Bonner Family, Calee Reed, and Nathan Pacheco were our favorites.  I hope we get to do this again next year as well as spend time doing other fun things together.
