I'm not sure why I forgot to write about Easter and the rest of April. Now here it is, mid-May, and all of this seems so long ago. It was fun to have Piper and her parents here for Easter Sunday. A soft lamby basket filled with a few gifts was awaiting her in the morning. She wore a pretty dress that her Grandma Tianne gave to her. She was so pretty and full of sunshine in it. She had her first Easter egg hunt in the backyard with her mom and dad and loved finding some candies inside some of the plastic eggs.
Piper is a true bright spot in the midst of a crazy pandemic. She is learning things every day through her play and explorations of the world around her. She is on the go from the moment she wakes up in the morning until she goes down for her nap and again until it's time for bed at night. She plays hard and sleeps hard.
Here's a few more pics from April. We loved having Emma at home with us as she finished up with her second semester at BYU on-line. That was a real challenge for her, but she pulled through and did her best which turned out to be pretty darn great. Piper loves her Auntie Em and Emma loves her Piper. This next pic shows them sitting on Emma's bed swaying back and forth to the music on her phone. Piper really likes to be in charge of holding phones. One day, Emma was playing around with our 25 year old doll stroller. She got into it, but then she couldn't get back out! It was so funny trying to help her extricate her legs!
One Sunday, Josh came down from Logan to visit us. He brought his old iPhone he sold to Chelsea and his Apple Watch he sold to Matt (because he just switched to Samsung...traitor! haha). Megan had to work that day so she wasn't able to come with him. He was here for our sacrament meeting and blessed the sacrament with Spencer. Matt, too, was at work that day. He had dinner with us and was also here when my parents made the rounds for a short visit, donned in their masks and gloves.
Chelsea has been putting together a 2000 piece puzzle during this quarantine time. She's also a pro at cutting Spencer's hair. Lucky for him because salons/barbers were shut down for the whole month of April.
Since my gym, Orange Theory Fitness, has been closed for two months, I've been walking more in the mornings. I love that it's light outside earlier and that the air is crisp and cool and smells of tree blossoms. I took this picture of our Oquirrh Mountain Temple as it sits unused on the inside, but the outside still brings peace to many who come to walk around it or sit on its grounds.
