Trek Prep

This picture was taken about 3/4 of the way up to the top.

I, and two other leaders, took a bunch of cute young women from our Mia Maid and Laurel classes on a hike up to Table Rock here in Boise last night. This was done for a little pioneer trek preparation. Gotta test out our fitness levels and our shoes. We picked this hike because it has good hills to climb and because of the awesome view of the valley and city center.

Here we are with our beautiful Treasure Valley behind us.

The weather forecast predicted rain and possible thunderstorms. We didn't have either during the hike. Just lots of wind and cool temperatures. Our hands were cold coming down, but we all had fun together. A few blisters on one girl's feet, but other than that, we were just great. These girls will have a wonderful time at trek and are physically fit for three and a half days of pulling and pushing handcarts.

Here we are at the top.

  1. What a fun hike! I love the Laurels and Miamaids - such a fun age to work with :) Are you going on Trek too?

  2. Yes, Jody, I am going on Trek. Everyone in the fam is going except Emma. Heather is coming up to babysit her. It's gonna be fun but also really hard. I'll write about it after it happens:) Matt was asked to be the photographer. That is about the only way they could have gotten him to go. I wonder if the bishop knew that.
